Meet the most important person in your life: You.
You are the one you will spend your life with – starting on day one until you pass. Other people fade in and out of your existence but you remain – no matter where you go or what you do.
The relationship you have with yourself will determine how you relate to others and how you experience life. If you are not happy within your own skin, if you dislike, judge or even hate yourself you may feel discomfort or even pain.
To get to know yourself and make peace with who you are, most of us need support and role models. This post contains recommendation and inspirations on how to love and accept yourself. Over time I will add new links to it, and you may want to revisit this post in the future.
If you like to recommend something that supported you on this journey, please contact me and let me know.
1. Adia Gooden
When a person demands perfection of herself or himself, anything less can feel like failure. Adia Gooden knows this from experience. In addition to her work as a staff psychologist at the University of Chicago, she’s learned in her own life how to break negative thought patterns and live more freely. She shares those lessons in her talk: “Cultivating Unconditional Self-Worth.”
